Running Lake Tahoe in Salomon Shoes

It’s been a while since I’ve collected any miles during my travels, so when we took a quick weekend getaway to Lake Tahoe, I made sure to add a run to my schedule. I packed my new pair of running shoes from Salomon so I had no excuses to run.

We stayed right on the beach, so as soon as the daylight peeked in through the curtains, I changed into my running gear and laced up the shoes. I made sure to match my Run Local tank to the shoes because that’s important to me. Gotta look good on the RUNway!

As a Run Local Ambassador, I received this Predict2 pair from Salomon to try out, and I’m happy with what I received. Since these shoes adapt to you and the road to help reduce stress on joints, I knew bringing them to the Lake would give me a good opportunity to really test how adaptable they are.

Even before I put them on I already knew they’d be a good fit. I appreciate how light and breathable they are, with just enough support. I’m a neutral runner, so there’s no need for additional weight on the shoes, and having them light kept it easy for me to run through the various terrain on this run.

I started my run on the concrete, like a true Concrete Runner. Each stride felt smooth with a soft cushion. There was still some snow around in early April, so I couldn’t help but snap a pic of the white snow with my white shoes. I don’t own too many white running shoes because of how dirty running can get, but snow nor sand was going to stop me on my run this morning!

It was beautiful to have the beach all to myself and run the shoreline. The views of the snow-topped mountains and the glassy blue water was so serene, and the crisp air and higher altitude made each breath a little more challenging, but there was no way I would stop. I need to collect my miles!

It was even more challenging to run on the uneven beach sand, but since these shoes are so light, agility was not a problem for me. I took a few breaks to soak in the scenery and catch my breath, and actually admire how I managed to keep my new white shoes so white on the beach.

After the run was done, I celebrated by dipping my toes in the frigid waters. It was so refreshing and such a treat! And to keep my new running shoes looking clean, I made sure to give their soles a dip in the water too.

Later in the day, we took a walk through town and I laced up these shoes again. What I love about these shoes is that they’ll look good with my street clothes too, meaning that’s less shoes to pack!
