New Glasses for Home

I’m not gonna lie. It’s becoming harder and harder for me to read the TV screen! I’ve been squinting just to read the guide, and if we’re watching something with subtitles, like Parasite, I need to grab my glasses. 

At the end of last year, I made sure to get my eyes examined, and I asked for my prescription so I can order glasses whenever I see a pair I like. I have some designer statement glasses from the past, which cost me hundreds of $$$, but since I was using my insurance and had to spend down my Flexible Spending Account, that was no big deal. But now since it’s Shelter-in-Place, I’m not trying to go to the optometrist to pick up a pair, nor am I trying to spend tons of money. 

I stumbled across KITS Eyewear and found a cute, simple pair for lounging at home. This pair is called the Kreuzotter and I just loved the octagon-ish shape, kind of a step away from the circle rimmed glasses. 

I wanted a lightweight frame, since most of my glasses are thick frames, I needed something that didn’t feel like I was wearing glasses at home just to see the TV.  The glasses were super affordable at only $69, and I can get FSA reimbursed!

After ordering, I uploaded my prescription (you can also input into fields), and then I opened something unique...their PD Measurement Tool. PD stands for Pupillary Distance, or the distance between your pupils. It was just as simple as taking a pic of your face (with a card with magnetic stripe for reference) and then using their special markers to determine the distance. Kinda cool to see technology like that because it sure saved me a trip from going out!

I received the glasses in less than a week, and it came with a heavy duty case and cleaning cloth. As soon as my daughter saw them and tried them on, she just HAD to have her own pair. She actually has worse vision than me, and needs to wear glasses or contacts at all times, and like me, she wanted an affordable pair to wear around the house. She actually got her pair for FREE since they had a promotion running at that time, so that was an even better deal! Now we’re twins even more than people already say we are!
