Crystal Shopping in Lake Tahoe

We’ve been going to Lake Tahoe every summer for the past 4 years, and each time I make it a point to pick up some crystals. Just being surrounded by nature and the beauty of the granite rocks makes me want to bring home a few rocks myself. That makes these crystals even more special to me since they also serve as a souvenir.

I saw Well Being Tahoe was open to shop, so I stopped by to pick up some goodies. Here’s my haul from left to right, top to bottom:

  • Ruby Kyanite: aids in communication, meditation, astral projection, and opening the third eye, enhances and tunes spiritual energies and balances the chakras, alleviate stress and to focus on self-growth and healing.

  • Peacock Ore (Chalcopyrite): uplifts self-esteem, true happiness, and belief in yourself by removing doubt, fear, and self-limitations, strengthens perception and enhances inner knowing.

  • Malachite: a stone of transformation, strengthens loyalty in love, partnership, and friendship, assists in change

  • Bismuth: a stone of transformation, keeps you calm while adapting to change, aids in the ability to see patterns, relieves feelings of loneliness or isolation.

  • Green Aventurine: a stone of opportunity, a good luck stone for prosperity and wealth, protects the heart, loosens and releases negativity and energy blocks, absorbs electromagnetic and environmental pollution.

  • Aragonite: a grounding stone for centering before meditation and healing, relieves stress and brings patience and discipline, increases energy and confidence

  • A smaller Peacock Ore

Tips for Crystal Shopping

While you can shop for crystals online, which I’ve dabbled in while shops were closed, picking them up in person is the best way. Let’s face it, I haven’t been inside a retail establishment in months due to quarantine, so I was really excited to shop. Try these tips next time you visit a crystal shop:

  • Know what you want- kind of. It’s good to walk in knowing what you are looking for, basically so you don’t buy the whole store lol! But even if you don’t know what crystal you want, but you know what benefits you are looking for, that can help you narrow down your search.

  • Use your intuition. Let your intuition guide you in finding something special. What grabs your attention? What makes you feel good when you see it? What feels right?

  • Feel it in your hands. Spend time holding the crystals in your hands and determine how it feels when you hold one over another.

  • Look at it from all angles. Flip the crystal on all sides to see what it looks like and if you can, stand it up to see how it lays. This is important if you are placing them on a shelf or altar.

  • Hold it up to light. This is helpful especially for crystals that are clear or opaque, but in any instance, looking at a crystal in the light can unveil some glimmering beauty that you wouldn’t see otherwise.

Even thought I’m so happy with this haul, these are just a few of the rocks I picked up on this trip…I can’t wait to show you more! Stay tuned!
